MARVELOUS MUSICALES. This opportunity for local residents to display their musical talent on stage is a treat for the entire community. Broomfield Civic Orchestra 2nd Annual Youth Concerto Competition AUDITIONS. Calling all young musicians from middle school through high school! Open to all instruments, including piano. Cash prizes! ROCKY MOUNTAIN BRASSWORKS - THE CELTIC EXPERIENCE! Rocky Mountain Brassworks proudly brings to life beautiful brass interpretations of old and new Celtic tunes. Joined on stage by artists from Centennial State Pipes and Drums, expect a powerful and moving brass and bagpipe performance!

When: 7:30 p.m.

Admission: Adults $15; Seniors/Students $10; Children under 12 FREE when accompanied by an adult.

The Broomfield Music Teachers' Association (BMTA) presents the 33rd Annual Broomfield Fine Arts Festival (originally known as the Broomfield Piano Festival). A full day of musical excellence will culminate in the evening event at the Broomfield Auditorium with a concert and awards. Advanced registration required for participants.

8:00 a.m.-noon Piano and Vocal Auditions and evaluations (Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church-not open to the general public)
1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. Piano FINAL Auditions (Broomfield Auditorium - not open to the general public)
1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. Vocal Master Class made possible with the generous support of 1st Bank (Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church)
7:30 p.m. Vocal Finals, Piano Recital, Winner's Awards (Broomfield Auditorium)

SPECIAL PRESENTATION - SONG OF THE EARTH! Science, Sights &Sounds returns with a FREE production by award-winning actor Frank Oden and the Broomfield Civic Orchestra in a breathtaking performance that merges lyrical humor and verbal acrobatics with stunning visual images and evocative orchestral music to explore the awesome grandeur, subtle beauty, and delightful joys of our little blue planet ... as well as the significance of ecological balance, harmony, and sustainability.

March 12 and 13, 2010 (Friday & Saturday)

Annual Student Art Show and Reception. Local students (elementary through high school) are chosen by their school art teachers to display a wide variety of art pieces. This annual event truly showcases the artistic talent of Broomfield's students. The opening reception on Friday evening will also feature live piano performances by Broomfield student musicians. Refreshements will be served.

When: Reception on Friday - 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. / Show open on Saturday 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Broomfield Civic Orchestra - Three Overtures. Portions of these Overtures will be heard during the Song of the Earth program on March 11. Come to this concert and hear these marvelous masterworks performed in their entirety!

Colorado Repertory Singers present Reel Music! CRS is celebrating Spring with a concert of music hits from the movies. Whether it's Chariots of Fire, Circle of Life, Schindler's List, Breakfast at Tiffany's, A Summer Place, or Mary Poppins, you'll smell the popcorn and yearn for the goobers as you are transported to a world of movie favorites. CRS will also host a Silent Auction with enticing items from local businesses.

CHAMBER ENSEMBLE CON GRAZIA - CHAMBER MUSIC CONCERT. Come experience an evening of wonderful music. The program will include Duvernoy Trio for violin, horn and piano; Haydn Trio "Gypsy" for violin, cello and piano;
Borodin Quintet for 2 violins, viola, cello and piano; and the Gouvy Quintet for 2 violins, viola, cello and piano. The seldom heard chamber pieces by well-known composers Haydn and Borodin are complemented by the unusual pairing of violin and horn in the Duvernoy trio and the fine, but rarely heard from composer, Gouvy.

ASTER Women's Chamber Choir 10th Anniversary Concert - THE POWER OF THE PEN. This very special concert will feature compositions with texts by Katherine Lee Bates, Mother Cabrini, E.E. Cummings, Emily Dickinson, Dorothy Parker, Edna St. Vincent Millay, May Sarton, Sojourner Truth, and William Shakespeare! ASTER is also pleased to premiere Grace Asquith's No Such Music with cellist, Kara McIntire, a piece commissioned especially for this occasion.

Colorado Repertory Singers present You've Got to be Kidding! - Prepare to laugh your socks off when you join CRS for an evening of humor, with, and whimsy. Among their fun and funny musical selections will be PDQ Bach's Oedipus Tex. That's right, it's the age old story of Oedipus Rex set to some kickin' music and done up right ... Texas style! The third and final CRS Silent Auction of the year will be featured in the Lobby with items to get your summer started right!.
